To some, an automotive detail is synonymous with a car wash. This is not only the case with car owners, but with some people who bill themselves as detailers! So what really does go into premium Car Detailing Wollongong? And why should you, as the owner of a fine automobile, care?
The Results: What Does a Premium Auto Detail Do?
We recently had a 1993 Dodge Viper brought to our shop. This car has been well-loved over its lifetime, but sat idle for much of the last few years and collected its fair share of paint imperfections. We were asked to give it a full exterior detail, to turn back the clock and make this sports car look like it did on the showroom 24 years ago. And that’s exactly what we did.

The Process: What’s Involved in a Premium Auto Detail
Premium auto detailing typically has at least three main phases, with multiple steps to each phase. The first phase is decontamination. This is where the car gets washed. We began by spraying the Viper with foam, which loosens the bond between surface contaminants and paint, allowing dirt and grime to be removed without damaging the car’s clear coat. The entire vehicle is then hand-washed. We spent some quality time cleaning out the nooks and crannies of the Viper’s V10 engine. After all suds are rinsed off the vehicle, every surface is hand-dried to prevent water-spotting.
The second phase is paint correction or restoration. This is where the magic happens; where a car with swirl-marks, streaks, and water spots returns to showroom shine; the part where the clock gets turned back. We polished all exterior surfaces of the Viper, and were able to remove significant paint defects.
The third phase is paint protection. In some cases, this means applying a protective wax or sealant. If you want a more permanent solution, you can apply a Ceramic Coating, which is a multi-year wax alternative. The most comprehensive form of defense, of course, is Paint Protection Film. Whatever choice you make for your vehicle, it is important to add layers of protection after performing a premium detail in order to keep your newly beautified vehicle looking as beautiful as it can for as long as it can.
